Switzerland is a landlocked located in the Western Europe region of Europe. Switzerland borders France to the west and Italy to the south. Also Austria and Liechtenstein to the east and Germany to the north. The conveniently central location of Switzerland and neutral status has made this country the center of banking for Western Europe. With many international corporations headquartered in Switzerland for tax reasons. Switzerland has become a preferred meeting place for conventions and international conferences.

Geneva (one of city in Switzerland) is become home of the United Nation and other organization like International Labour Organization (BIT), International Committee of the Red Cross, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), World Meteorological Organization, World Trade Organization, International Telecommunication Union, World Alliance of Young Men's Christian Association

Geneva is one of the tourist destination city in Switzerland and one of the greenest cities in Europe with more than 20 parks in the city center offering countless opportunities for rest and relaxation. Many people are resting, relaxing, eating, playing or just chilling outside on the grass in a parks, especially in summer.

Geneva ’s world famous lakefront is the centerpiece of the city and offers endless opportunities for recreation and relaxation throughout the year. The Jet d’Eau spouting 140 meters into the air is the world’s tallest and symbolizes Geneva’s heritage as a leader in the field of hydraulic power. The Promenades along the left and right banks of the lake are filled with cafés, parks, street markets and other diversions from lake cruises to amusement rides to water skiing. The Bains des Paquis on the western shore has been a crowd favorite since its opening in 1932 and continues to draw visitors and locals alike who flock to its saunas and unique bathing areas to see and be seen along this sunny concrete jetty. Dominating the eastern bank, the giant Flower Clock in the English Garden is a tribute to Geneva’s watch industry, harmonizing Swiss ingenuity with the floral bounties of nature. The dial is composed of some 6,500 flowers and is updated with new arrangements several times per year.

Geneva ’s ancient Old Town is a maze of sloping cobblestone streets and alleyways filled with cafes, boutiques and historical landmarks at every turn. A former Roman marketplace, the Bourg-de-Four is the oldest public square in Geneva and remains a hub of activity surrounded by bistros, terraces, bars and other popular meeting spots. The 15th century Hotel De Ville located along Rue de l’Hotel-de-Ville still serves as the seat of government in Geneva and is the site of many political milestones including the first convening of the Geneva Convention in 1864 and the founding of the League of Nations in 1920. Across the street, the Old Arsenal is a former battery, now home to a 1949 mosaic by Alexandre Cingria depicting Caesar’s arrival in the city 58 BC. Finally, The Treille Promenade on the south side of the Old Town was once an artillery post and today offers beautiful views of the city from atop the towns last remaining rampart wall.

 Saint Peter's Cathedral
Towering over the Old Town in the heart of the city, Saint Peter’s Cathedral is Geneva’s oldest and most impressive architectural treasure. The Cathedral was began in 1160 and took over 400 years to complete, suffering numerous makeovers and fires throughout the years. The north tower offers incredible panoramic views of the city, while the basement houses an Archaeological Museum chronicling the excavation of artifacts found beneath the Cathedral, some dating back as far as 350 AD.

 Rousseau Island
This romantic island named for the Genevan philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who spent part of his life in Geneva. His statue is dominating the island. His statue is dominating the island. Jean-Jacques Rousseau is a bastion of serenity amidst the turbulent waters of Le Rhone River. The island contains a bird sanctuary and a restaurant with stunning views of the surrounding cityscape.  Rousseau is a small park and island in the middle of the Rhone River, in the very center of Geneva, connected by the bridge Pont des Bergues to both river banks.

Reformation Wall

Located in beautiful Bastions Park, this monument commemorates the major events and figures of the Protestant Reformation. Larger than life statues of Guillaume Farel, Jean Calvin, Théodore de Bèze and John Knox dominate the central part of the 100 meter wall, eternally guarding over their “City of Refuge.”

 Schtrumpfs Building

Location in 23-29 Rue Louis-Favre. Named after the French word for the “Smurfs,” the Schtrumpfs is a modern architectural landmark located in the funky Les Grottes neighborhood behind the train station. The apartment complex was designed by three architects determined to create the most unconventional building possible. MATSWAPATI

Several weeks ago, 3 Senior High School Bandung held an event. The event’s name was MATSWAPATI, it’s been 7 years since 3 Senior High School last event. MASWAPATI was an event that would show you arts and culture of West Java, Indonesia.

The name of MASWAPATI had a meaning, that was took from the name one of puppet in Indonesia called Prabu Matswapati.

I

I felt happy and proud because I am a crew in decorating division for this event. Honestly this was my first experienced become a crew in a big event. But I’ll tried my best for this event.

Now, I will share my story and tell you more about this event.

At Matswapati you could see there were many traditional performances. Some traditional performances was Calung Show, Pencak Silat, Jaipong, Angklung Show and many more. Why Matswapati choose traditional performance to show? Because we wanted made you remember about our culture arts which was almost forgotten by us. But, don’t worry! Beside traditional performances Matswapati also invited famous artist to this event. He was Glenn Fredly.

At September 26th 2014, one day before the event held was very busy day. All crew were preparing for this event. Everyone take her and his own job, including me. I decorated some places and painted some accessories for this event. I worked with my senior from SSR and my friend in tenth grade who wanted to contribute for Matswapati. I also worked in decorating my class stands. I ended my decorated and     went home at 08.00 pm. Whenever I was tired, but it was exciting.

At last the day was came! September 27th 2014 MATSWAPATI begin to held. In the morning, before the gate of Matswapati opened there was a parade. All of my friends who didn’t work as a crew for this event must joined the parade. Beside the student from 3 Senior High School, the parade followed by students from other school. From 2 & 5 Junior High School and there was student from elementary school too.

Because decorated was finished and I my job was finished, I could joined the parade. We walk from Bali St., to Sumtra St., Aeh St., Merdeka St., Jawa St., until back to Bali St. again. All the way we sang and shouted “Matswapati”. In the parade every class use different costume for made this parade interesting and make it different from other. This parade was really fun.

After parade we came back again to our stand. We guard our stand if there was someone searching for something and came to our stand. Every stand consist of ten and eleven grade and every stand had they own name, stand name was “Yudhistira”. Every name took from traditional name, example my stand name was took from name of one puppet in Indonesia.

When we arrived in the field Matswapati had already opened. First, there was speech of the head of organizer Matswapati (Kang Abdel Moh. Deghati), and then the Mayor of Bandung (Mr Ridwan Kamil), and the last head of 3 Senior High School (Mr. Encang Iskandar). The first performances was from Calung, and followed by othe performaces like bejang, Orchestra Semi Dangdut, Tiloe’s Theatre and many more.

In the evening everyone start to come to Matswapati. Now the field more crowded than before. Then Barsena was performance. In front of the stage there was so many people saw his performance. He sang several best song and it was really cool. Everyone including me like to hear he sang.

And the last performance that we waited from the first time, the main guess star of this event came on th stage. You know who? Ya! Glenn Fredly. Everyone was screamed called him for sang. He sang approximately 9 song. The song was great and his voice was cool too. That was really fantastic! All audience dancing and followed him sang the song.

The festival over around 08.30 pm. This event was successful. This was the greatest even with art and traditional culture. You would never regret came to this event.

This is my story about MATSWAPATI, thank you for reading.
